Large 19th century shipwreck anchor - $5,500 - (Stevensville, MD)
This is a 1000 pound Trotman anchor that was pulled from a shipwreck off St Augustine. Trotman and Porter revolutionized the anchor industry in the 1820's when they developed these pivoting crown anchors. They were found to have superior holding power and would not tangle the anchor rode like their predecessors. This anchor has been out of the water for a long time. It is made from steel, not iron so it is very stable. It would be a great addition for your bar, restaurant, marina, or private collection. These are fairly common in the UK but you don't see many in the states. This is your chance to own something that few others have.Dimensions; 120" long, stock- 92", 60" across the flukes. Can be transported in a full size pick up. Feel free to ask questions.
