Early Limoges Sailing/Nautical Ship Signed - $130 - (Ocracoke, NC)
I am selling this from my personal collection: a LOVELY and rare early 1900s Limoges handpainted porcelain trinket box. This lovely oval-shaped gem is in impeccable condition. It sits on 4 tiny turned feet with pink petals painted on each. The top flower clasp closes firmly with just the tiniest bit of room between the upper and lower metal bands. The handpainted scene on its top cover depicts an anchored 3-mast sailing vessel (appears to be a war ship) near a harbor. A windmill can be seen onshore in the distance with seagulls flying in the sky. Inside the top cover and bottom box is painted a flower in tones of gray with an amber center. On its outside there is a band of colorful wildflowers and roses with gold curls of rope encircling them. The bottom of the box is signed FRANCE with the artist's marks in blue. Dimensions: 1.75" tall x 2.25" in length. Selling for $130 with shipping via USPS insured provided by the buyer. Thank you for looking at this beauty!
