Vintage 1958 Kay Maestro M1 3/4 Double Bass w/Bag and Bow Plays Great Low Action Serial # 40350 In fair condition.Heel of neck has been repaired at some point. A 1/2" threaded rod inserted through the bottom on the heel and through to the fingerboard. A bolt holds the rod in place. A diamond shaped patch has been inserted into the fingerboard to cover where the bolt comes through on the other side of the neck. Crack through the neck heel is stabilized.Finish on the headstock has been removed.Headstock appears to have been broken off at some point.There is a hole in the back of the peg box.7 drill holes on the sides and back of the peg box."D" tuning peg has been repaired1/2" gouge on the fingerboard.Center part of the bass has slowly collapsed about 3/4" from the bass side bridge foot to bass side F-hole.Bridge has flexible feet.Tailpiece is missing the "Kay" logo.Top and back edges show significant finish loss, scrapes, and scuffs.Back shows belt buckle scratches.Top, back, and sides show scratches, scuffs, and dings.Sound post in tact.End pin does not have a rubber tip.Original Kay bag.German style Glasser bow.
