Handcrafted 17' Cedar rib wooden canoe with hand woven seats and brass trim - $3,400 - (Mount Airy, NC)

Here is a chance to own a 1 of kind custom made 17' cedar ribbed canoe. I am calling it used but only a hand full of times and in great shape. This one was completely hand built and there is not one like it. It has Red Cedar strips on the hull of it. Then there is ribs that where cut and formed on the inside to hold the cedar strips. they where fastened by brass tacks through the ribs. Then the hull was covered with a invisible layer of clear fiber glass cloth which is bonded with watertight clear epoxy resin and is then coated with a marine varnish. The decks are out of Teak wood. then the outer wooden strip on the outside of the ribs is mahogany. The seat where hand woven and has brass trim of the front and back of the canoe. There is also a strip of wood along the center of the bottom to help control the correct direction. Last there is a insert that goes on the inside between the ribs to protect them from being damaged. This was a personal project that had more than 500 man hours in it. The only reason It is being sold, do not use it or have room to store it.
