Alaskan Pacific waters abalone shells - assorted sizes - $20 - (Sitka, AK)

Up for sale is this lot of abalone shells in assorted sizes measuring approximately 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" to 3 1/4" x 4" in size. Beachcombed on the shores of Southeast Alaska. I've found a stretch of beach that has hundreds and hundreds of these shells. A by product and end result of the sea otters and their voracious appetites, cute they are .. but they are pigs of the sea however....eat and feast and discard the shells...thanks Ollie Otter! These are just waiting for the a crafter who can cut, carve, polish them into jewelry or whatever. these are more white pearlized in color rather than the famliar blue/green color we're used to seeing in abalone shells. Beautiful none the less.
