ANTIQUE 1865/1872 W. E. BRADNER'S MERCANTILE DOUBLE BILL HOLDER - ALMOST 150 YRS - $46 - (Wichita, KS)
This is my pride and joy for owning an item back to Civil War Years age. Great piece for grocery/mercantile stores to use in those days. Note the 2 strings on back, was used to turn around when full on one end. Probably got used for holding charge tickets also. When I was 12 in 1950, I helped my Dad at his service station and almost everything we did then was on a carbon copy sales ticket that the customer signed. It went in the cash register just like cash. Folks would come in and pay their bills once a month. Some did not, and my Dad went bankrupt after 2 years. Are credit cards any difference? See the photos to make out all the lettering. Letting on bottom reads "Patented, January 10th, 1865. Reissued Oct. 8th, 1872.". Measures 3-1/2" across by 8-1/2" high. I WILL COMBINE WITH OTHER ITEMS FOR ACTUAL SHIPPING COSTS, BUT DO NOT PAY UNTIL I SEND YOU THE COMBINED S&H INVOICE.
