1974 Roman Teller Violin You are looking at a 1974 Roman Teller Violin Model M.A. Made in Germany This Violin is in wonderful shape. I have had this instrument for over 20 years, and thought at some point I would learn to play it….. Well that did not happen, so it is going up for sale. It comes with the good suspension case and bow (brazil wood ) I have had several good players play this violin and they all liked it…. In doing some research, It may possible that this instrument was made by Roman teller himself, as he died in 1974…. But I am not certain. It may just be a workshop instrument, but if it was handmade by himself… that could account for the great sound it has for sure. I have 3 Weber Mandolins, one being a Fern, which is the top of their line, All are (shop) instruments, but handmade during the process…. and all of them are incredible. A fine instrument will stand on its own, even though, some of the process has been “production made” My understanding that the MA designates a slightly better instruments then the other numbers, starting with 2. In looking around…. It could be worth around 4K. I have had it a long time, and will price it to sell. I am sure it will need some things like adjustments, new strings, maybe a new bridge.
