16 Inch Metal Head Doll, believed Minerva - $25 - (Tennille, GA)

At first, I thought this doll had a composition head, until I found a magnet was strongly attracted to the head. My principal evidence to identify it as a Minerva was the 1982 doll enthusiast newspaper Q & A clipping I found inside the clothing at the back, shown in one of the photos, and placed there by my late mother. Additionally, I found a close match to the face on line when searching for Minerva dolls. The body is cloth and the hands and feet are wood. The purple outfit is lace trimmed. My best guess is that my mother acquired the head and fashioned the body and clothing in the early 1980s.
