RARE early 1800s, German Grodnertal j'td. wood doll, rare red corset, Herr Insam - $595 - (Sparta, NJ)
DescriptionHere is an extremely rare, early 1800s era, nine and a half inch tall, jointed wooden doll with carved hair and features, kid joints and painted red corset. She has carved wooden curls and a center-part as well has a carved nose, sweetly painted mouth, eyes, nostrils and cheek blush. Her arms and legs have their original (nailed on) leather joints at shoulders and hips as well as kid leather lower buttocks with original paper trim and that wonderful painted red corset with tiny waist. These very early German (Austria) made Grodnertal wooden dolls are attributed to Herr Insam and highly collectible due to their scarcity. She has no breaks or damages, (tiny nose chip) all original paint and no repair, damages or odors as she is from a smoke free home. She's a darling treasure and a great size for cabinet display.
