The closest historical reference for this transit is from the early 1900's, and most likely it is the exact model that was used by the prominent Arctic explorers. The exact unit that is seen in these photos is what you are bidding on, and again, is in very good condition, well taken care off and comes with it's own original containing/carrying box as shown. We have not been able to find even one example of this unique model with box in this condition anywhere, online.
