Civil War Period Reproduction Daydress, PreOwned, Excellent Condition - $150 - (Gettysburg, PA)

This dress is made of 100 percent cotton. I made it for myself, then gained weight and had to alter it. When the time came for a 3rd alteration I was sick of it. The bodice needs to be taken off, and taken in; as most people know, a Victorian dress was made of the skirt and the bodice before attaching the bodice to the skirt. The hooks have to be taken off, and the lining altered as well; the lining in these dresses was made separately then attached to the bodice at the shoulder and under the arm. The bust measures 44 inches around, the attached open sleeve measures 20.5 inches long. An undersleeve buttoned at the cuff is needed. The waist is 38 inches, the length of the skirt is 25 inches long from the waistband. Skirts were taken up at the top, not the bottom. It has a hem tape to protect the hem and is lined with brown polished cotton. The lace on the front is original. The shoulder seam to the waist band is 15 inches long and the neckline is 21 inches around. You will need a collar for that.
