The is the famous Military (JAN) projector known around the world since 1948. It is the standard in rugged reliable portable 16 mm sound projector. It was released for civilian use about 1960. It was designed during WW 2 but not manufactured until after the war was over and produced by several manufacturers. This projector was manufactured by the prestigious Bell and Howell Company NOTE: There is a second identical projector that is available and will be included if the buyer wants it for the added cost of shipping and $12 for preparing it to ship. This second projector will need some minor work and has no lens. This is a very rugged portable Bell & Howell 16 mm projector “Design 614” model from the early 1960s and designed for use by the armed services. This model projector was designed also for use in television systems where the film (movie) was converted into a television show by projecting the image onto the TV camera tube (Telecine) with full remote control from the TV master control room This versatile projector was also used as a regular film projector and could be used with different throws using different lenses. As stated this projector has been in storage in a smoke free home for many years and has not been operated since we started using hand carried TV cameras and large screen television monitors. The projector has not been tested and is sold with the understanding the projector needs to be checked and carefully lubricated before operation. The lens looks good and so do all of the internal parts. There could be a weak spring holding one film sprocket drive. The projector reel arms are in excellent shape and have their mounting thumb screws. When the projector is stored the arms are mounted in the front cover making a compact unit for easy transport.
