Period 17th-18th Century Jacobean English Oak Joint Stool Table CARVED 1700's - $895 - (Huntington, IN)
This impressively carved joint stool of the middle 1600’s-early 1700’s is constructed of richly toned oak with pinned mortise and tenon joints and worn lower stretchers and top. Measuring 19 ¾” tall x 13 ¾” x 15 ¼” (base) it has a 13 1/8” x 18” top with shallow molded edge and stable old crack. The turned legs are richly fluted and the skirts nicely carved and it is stable and turdy with minimal evidence of old insect damage. You will note shrinkage cracks, splits and sheer losses at the ends of the legs and the bottom of the legs were trimmed many years ago to even its stance. The current surface appears to be the worn/well-used original under several coats of hand rubbed wax. WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO SHIP WORLDWIDE IF ALLOWED BY USPS.
