VERY RARE VERNE MARTIN BUTTERFLY SETTEE 19c. - $450 - (Orleans, VT)
Quite rare butterfly Verne Martin style Louis XV, late 19c. settee (usually sold are cabinets, vitrines, or bookshelves but extremely rarely a settee). It is 46" long from arm to arm, 21" deep, and 37 1/2" high at each "wing". In the style of this period, it has cherubs on each "wing" and a central medallion with a couple (lady resting with her eyes closed and the lad surprising her over a small wall), surrounded with flowers. It is the original finish. The overall condition is good; some light traces on the ormolu and finish due to age, such as a light vertical on the central medallion (see picture) or marks on the feet, please check all the pictures carefully, I took as much as I could put on the site, please ask me for more pictures if you would like. The cloth is grey, diamond style, and in great condition (no hole, no stain, no ripping), as well as under the settee (see last picture). This item cannot be shipped unless you arrange for your own pick up. Location is Northeastern Vermont. Thank you for looking.
