For sale is a truly unique collectable from the 2014 NLDS- Game 2- the longest postseason game in MLB history- between the San Francisco Giants and the host Washington Nationals. This game was won by the Giants, 2-1, who would eventually take the series en route to their 3rd World Series championship in 5 years. This specific ball was pitched in the top of the 13th inning by Nationals reliever Craig Stammen, pitching to Giants rookie Joe Panik. The ball would be pitched in the dirt by Stammen and removed from play. Panik would eventually ground out to shortstop in this at-bat. Authenticated balls such as this are sent mid-game to sale to the public, and are sold by the team.
