1793 LIBERTY CAP HALF CENT- PCGS C2 VF Details "HEAD FACING LEFT" - $5,200 - (Palm Bay, FL)
1793 Liberty Cap, Authorized April 2, 1792. One of the first and "ONLY" deliveries to the treasury of this type coin ever, "Head Facing Left". They were July thru September of 1793 of that year only. It was a miracle any thing was minted in the summer months of 1793 due to the Yellow Fever Epidemic that killed thousands even some mint employees but our young and fragile republic had a lot to prove. A very old half cent coin, 225 year's old next year. This is a Cohen 2 of the Little Sister Half's of 1793. All half cents are scarce. Mintage 33,000+. Edge reads "Two Hundred for a Dollar" Very nice and the fraction numeral 1/200 is on the reverse of the coin. Clean details through out original brown appearance with Very Fine Details and Graded by PCGS. For a 1793 Half Cent it still has Great color and over all details that are represented on both sides of this coin.
