Vintage Faceted Stained Glass Church Window Writing Bible Quill Pen Books Framed - $785 - (Waterloo, IL)
This item is made from what is referred to as 'faceted glass.' Faceted glass has its own unique appearance. It is generally about an inch thick and its surface is faceted or chipped. The glass is held together with an epoxy which allows for varying space between glass as needed. The epoxy surface is rough.This item came out of a church in Northern IL that was being demolished. It is in a boxed frame because it originally hung from the ceiling and was lit. Quite beautiful.The electric is now non functioning. The box that encases the glass is very, very tattered. The one side of the top is off to take pic of inside, but the top will remain off. I left the item on the box due to shape, size, and weight. Faceted glass in epoxy needs support.Those familiar with this style will know the glass is not smooth, it is chipped on purpose. Measures about 53" x 25" x 16"Exact age is unsure as the church was built in 1920 - no one knew when the glass was made for the church exactly, but some remembered around the late 1930's they thought.Maker unknown. Does not stand alone. The bottom and top are cut to have points in them.The glass itself if gorgeous, especially when lit or in sunlight. **Local Pick - not able to ship due to size/weight** Pick up of item(s) is in St. Louis, MO M - F 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
