The scent of this potpourri is very, very close to the famous Claire Burke scent, Apple Jack and Peel. Spiced Apples, citrus and a touch of cinnamon. I use apples that I pick right here in Maine and dry myself. This recipe includes both apple slices and apple chunks. Cinnamon sticks, rose hips, allspice, cloves, orange peel, and star anise round out this highly fragrant potpourri. The recipe has been infused with my own special blend of pthalate free oils and smells wonderful when you put a 1/4 cup of potpourri in a pan or potpourri simmering pot, cover with water and heat up. The fragrance is amazing. Keep an eye on the water level and add more when it starts to evaporate. This also makes a wonderful bowl or basket decorative potpourri.
