Joe Giard TOUGHEST 1927 Yankees Signed Album Page D. 1956 - $5,800 - (Chapel Hill, NC)

Offered here is a rare opportunity to own the signature of Joe Giard, the toughest of the tough from the most widely-collected baseball team of all time--the 1927 New York Yankees! Giard passed away in 1956. Following his brief MLB tenure, Giard was not a responsive autograph signer. Consequently, precious few examples have survived. Here is a 1925 St. Louis Browns team-signed album page featuring Giard's signature in bold black fountain pen. Condition of this album page is impeccable given its 92 years. It originates from a 1925 autograph book which was signed by nearly all the American League! As a bonus, other greats have signed this page, including the earliest example of HOF Umpire Bill McGowan I've ever seen in my 30 years in this hobby. It presents as a single-signed album page on the verso of the Browns page. The page also includes Browns star Ken Williams (D. 1959), very tough autograph Dixie Davis (D. 1944), HOFer George Sisler, Jimmie Austin (the man depicted in the famous "Cobb Sliding into Third" photo), and noted non-signer George Grant. This original and very authentic autographed album page is fully guaranteed to pass the authentication process of PSA/DNA, Beckett or JSA. Buyer to add $50 for S&H via USPS Registered Mail. This method of shipping may take a bit longer at times, but is by far the most secure way to ship for both buyer and seller.
