3 Wabanaki sewing accessory baskets 100+years old, thimble, scissor, pincushion - $45 - (Sedgwick, ME)

3 small sewing accessory baskets, NE Native American (Wabanaki) made sometime between 1900-1920. The pincushion basket has brown velvet top, the scissor cover basket has pair of antique scissors included, the thimble basket with lid is "thimbleless" ALL ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION! (price is less than $15 per basket) ---- All 3 baskets have brown ash splints as the foundation - this is the traditional basketry material of the Maine and Eastern Canadian Indian basketmakers. All 3 baskets have plain tidal sweetgrass used for the weavers on the baskets. The thimble cover and pincushion basket have olive green dyed ash splints used to wrap the rims and the thimble basket has a small loop of this splint used as a "handle". The scissor basket has brown dyed ash splint to wrap the rim and a loop of this is at back of basket....not sure of the loop's purpose. Pincushion basket is 2.75" diameter, 1.25" high: thimble basket is 1" diameter, 1.25" high: scissors cover basket is 1/2" diameter at top, 2.5" long and scissors are 3.75" total length. Scissors appear to have some tarnish (silver?) ... and some decorative elements on handles.. has some stamped writing just above handle in a near circle w/serrate design at top ... can't read much of it... appears to be 3 words - bottom word begins w/"S". Wabanaki - the confederacy of 5 tribes living in Maine, Vermont and Eastern Canada - The Abenaki, Maliseet, MicMac, Passamaquoddy and Penobscot. ALL baskets perfect - no breaks!
