Large Nickel Plated Cast Iron Barber Shop Hat Coat Umbrella Stand Rack Griffins - $1,995 - (Indianapolis, IN)

Early 20th century large scale nickel plated cast iron coat, hat, and umbrella stand or tree. Based on the size it was probably originally used in a barber shop or saloon. The upper rotating section originally had 6 hat hooks, but the tip of one is broken. See images 2 and 3. Each hat hook has three more coat hooks below. All coat hooks are intact. The base is adorned with large griffins or dragons and hoofed feet. Holders for 8 umbrellas are present just above the griffins. Fixture measures 75" tall. 20" wide across upper hooks. 22 1/2" wide across the feet. Offered as found, uncleaned, and unrestored. Some finish loss and oxidation from years of use.
