5 Pre Columbian Natural Green Jade Mayan Hand Carved Round Beads(B31) - $350 - (Jonesport, ME)

Offered for the first time is this lot of 5 original natural jade Mayan Round Beads. The Beads measure approximately 9mm x 6mm(2), 10mm x 5mm, 8mm x 5mm and 8mm x 6mm. This jade bead lot was collected in the early 1900's in Mexico. The hand cut holes are conical and typical of hand shaped Mayan beads. Close examination with a 10x loupe shows original mineral stains and deposits. The colors are natural and typical of very fine early jade found in Tabasco and Yucatán regions of Mexico. (The Dumbarton Oaks Convention of Olmec Jades published an article stating that in the early 1800's the Olmec people reproduced certain carvings. The jadite for those carving was of a different color than this.) This original natural jade Mayan Round Bead Lot is from a collection that has been authenticated.
