Vintage Tenor Saxophone - $299 - (Clear Spring, MD)
We have for sale a vintage tenor saxophone for a project horn. The brand is unknown as there is only, faintly engraved on the bell, a picture of a soldier's head with a three pointed hat they wore in the Revolutionary War. There are a few features that remind me of an old Conn such as locking pivot screws. The body is unlacquered and straight with no dents and a few dings (see pics) in the bottom U joint with good functioning keys and springs. New pads were installed a few months ago but the finial adjusting was never done. The neck is a newer one that I'm sure didn't come with the horn and will need a slight adjustment. That also appears to be unlacquered. With a little time some one with a little repair experience can have this old horn honking again. Basically snug up the neck and check the pads for proper seating and you'll have a nice playing horn. I don't have a case but I'll pack it very well as I always do.
