Antique 17 century Louis the XIII side table. Has a single drawer that is highly carved with cherubs riding goats, squirrels eating fruit from a horn of plenty, has a crest at center, and each side of the upper leg has a single griffin. The table is extremely handsome with barley twist legs and a barley twist stretcher. Top is a double planked rectangular top. Base is typical of Louis the eighth era rectangle block joints has an elegant silhouette. Has a small early repair at one barley twist back leg, has some worm holes in the wood could be walnut not certain but is absolutely exquisite. A superb 17th century table with the most elegant carving I’ve ever seen. Dimensions are 30" high, top is 35.5" by 22.5".
