ANTIQUE RARE DECO HAMMERED IRON LIGHT FIXTURE SCONCE FROSTED HOB NAIL GLASS ELEC - $130 - (Gibson City, IL)
Up for consideration is a rare antique oil lamp style electric wall sconce light. It appears to be made of silver hammered pewter or metal. It will go nicely in most Spanish revival, mission and English Tudor decors...actually most any for a pretty antique style. The approximate measurements are; height from the very top to the very bottom 12.5", width across the widest part at the bottom 5.5" projection about 5" and the height of the glass is 5.5". I used a metal tape to get the measurements. It has been wired for electric. We were told when we purchased our home the lights were from the 1800's (not sure of the lights but our home was built in the 1800's) and used as a wall sconce oil lamps but were wired for electric about the 1920's. The glass is in excellent condition. Very pretty on with a low watt light bulb. I have seen this light listed as a Plymouth one-light fixture sold by Sears from several years ago, I am not sure of the authenticity of that but the article I read is identical to this light. I have also seen identical lights that were indicated they were by Virden Co, but again I cannot verify this. We do have 6 more of these single lights, only one double and two hanging chandeliers (**I have added a photo of the ceiling chandelier at the end of the photos but is being sold separate from the single, picture added for your viewing only. I will be putting it into its own auction and the asking price will be $750.00.**) They all have the same glass, all match and are all in excellent condition. Very well taken care of. I cannot verify the date or authentic information as of right now, I have only noted what I was told, we are going to take one apart and check for any markings or dates.
