This charger is NEW and comes in the Original (rare) Box. The battery is new as well and, even if it accepts and keeps charge, I don't think that its performance is as you might expect. Mechanics: I carefully tested the charger and everything works and sounds as it should: The charger works silently and both lamps lit intensely bright. The battery looks new both to the white plastic wrapping and (-) and (+) ends. No clue of battery leak is present. The Nikon DH-1 Quick-Charger, having a voltage selector for 100, 117, 220 and 240V, can be safely used in most countries wordwide, and is capable of charging a completely exhausted NiCd DN-1 battery to 80% of its capacity in about three hours. InstructionsUnscrew (counterclockwise) the round screw-in cap located on the left side of the front panel and insert the DN-1 NiCd battery into the battery chamber. The (+) plus side MUST face out, as the inner part of the screw in cap indicates.Replace the screw cap.Plug the power cord into an AC power source. The white power lamp on the front panel will glow GREEN and the red charge-indicator lamp turns on with a RED light to indicate start of charging.The charge shall be complete when the charge indicator ligth had turned off. Charging time depends on the power remaining in the NiCd battery, but normally a completely "dead" battery will be recharged to 80% capacity in about three hours after which the charge-indicator lamp turns off.Unplug the power cord.Unscrew the cap, remove the fully charged DN1 battery and install it into your DS EE Attachment.
