Early 19th Century English Sterling Silver Leaf-shaped Tea Caddy Spoon by Joseph Taylor Offered for sale is a rare antique sterling silver caddy spoon in the form of a leaf with a curled handle. Weight 10 grams. Length 7.5 cms. Width 3.25 cms. Birmingham 1787. Maker Joseph Taylor. Caddy spoons were made from 1780 onwards and come in numerous designs. They were designed to measure 1 spoonful of tea and were usually kept with the tea caddy. It could have been repaired on the underside of the spoon (see pics) but in otherwise good condition.
