Newcomb College Pottery 8" Moon Moss landscape Arts & Crafts matte blue green - $4,495 - (Cambridge, MA)

Here is a very nice Newcomb College Pottery scenic landscape vase in their signature matte blue green glazed, moss draped oak tree design with a full moon peeking through and a distant tree line at the horizon. It is well carved with good contrast and color. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or firing flaws. It measures 8 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the widest. Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, a slight impression for the potter either Joseph Meyer or Jonathan Hunt, a con-joined SI for decorator Sadie Irvine and date code QN42 for 1927. A fine example of the quintessential southern Arts & Crafts art pottery.
