Stunning Early American Ideal Antique Teddy Bear Meet Bartholomew. Bartholomew is an awesome possible Ideal bear but I am not 100% sure as he does not have the typical long arms. He definitely has that Ideal triangular head and the ears are place correctly. I know Ideal did produce other types of early bears so it could be he's just different. He measures a nice large 16", made of light beige mohair (retains about 70%), fully jointed, shoe button eyes, stitched nose and mouth, original paw pads, excelsior stuffed and has what appears to be an old growler or squeaker in his tummy that no long functions. His condition is good. He does have some wear/baldness throughout where the mohair has thinned or disappeared. That tells me he was loved by some little boy or girl. Paw pads do have some holes/wear to them and the claw stitches have started pulling away.
