NICE DATED DANISH ALPHABET SAMPLER!Classic estate collection example...hand stitched and embroidered alphabet sampler with the designation of "Faaborg Håndgerningsskole" (Faaborg Hand Deed School) and a date of Juli (July) 14, 1872. Some age and storage yellowing and discoloration throughout as would be expected for it's age. Modern (mid-century) metal frame holds the sampler under glass well...still has a usable hanging assembly. Alphabet letters are clear, with images of a chicken and cat as well as the flag of Denmark. Paperboard backing shows age yellowing and some moisture stain as you can see in our posted photo. Frame measures in at 14 & 7/8" x 14 & 5/8". Wonderful addition to your collection!
