FRENCH 64TH. REGIMENT BUTTON, VIRGINIA PATTON’S COMPANY, YORKTOWN, VIRGINIA, 1781 This French 64th. Regiment officer’s button was a gift to Virginia Militia Captain Thomas Patten from a French artillery officer who served in the French 64th. Regiment (used as artillery) at the Battle of Yorktown, Virginia in September & October, 1781. It is 5/8” diameter, is in VERY good condition with ½” numbers 64 surrounded by a circle not completely closed on top where the lines curve inward raised on the front & still has the shank on the back. It was bought directly from the Patten family by James Anderson in 1952. The Anderson Collection had over 1500 + artifacts from Virginia that were collected over 50 years of collecting. It comes with a certificate of authenticity, an Anderson Collection letter. See the other Yorktown artifacts from this same collection listed separately.
