Framed 1870's Cabinet Card Photograph of Holyoke (Mass) "Dude Fire Company"! The "Dude Fire Company" of Holyoke, Massachusetts was the first hook and ladder organizations. They took pride when they participated in their annual musters making it a custom to parade in top had and white kid gloves. Musters were in the nature of tournaments at which the firemen paraded their equipment and demonstrated their ability and stamina in handling their apparatus! This wonderful cabinet card photograph from one of those musters demonstrated by their dress in top hats and white gloves! The photo is approximately 13" x 9 1/2". It has been framed in a period frame that is approximately 20 3/4" x 17 1/2". The members in the photograph have been documented on the back on Whiting Paper Company letterhead perhaps from the back of the cabinet card! The photograph is in good to very good condition.
