Geiger Mueller Tube GM Handheld Radiation Detector Probe w/Beta Shield - $100 - (Donalsonville, GA)
This is a Geiger-Mueller (GM) gas filled detector. It is contained in a stainless steel housing and has a rotating shield which allows differential measurements between gamma and beta radiation; e.g., gamma with the shield closed, beta and gamma with it open and subtracting the two readings gives the beta component. The housing is equipped with a PL-258 receptacle and the cable has a corresponding PL-259 plug. The opposite end of the cable has a MHV (UG-932/U) connector and the cable is RG-62. The UG-932/U connector a MHV Straight Plug with silver-plated brass contacts. It comes with a PTFE insulator and ideal for use with RG-58, 58A, 58C and 141/U cable. The MHV series connector, forerunner of the SHV series, was designed for high voltage applications of BNC connectors. MHV connectors are sometimes referred to as high voltage BNC, but are not inter-mateable with BNC connectors. MHV connectors are covered under MIL-PRF-39012. High voltage connectors are designed for use where the normal operating voltage of standard coaxial connectors is inadequate. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
