Rachael is a limited edition porcelain doll by Australian artist Pauline Middleton. She is a very large doll at 33 inches, designed as a "big sister." Rachael's beautiful oculist designed glass eyes shine, with or without her spectacles. Her precious dress is full of hand smocking and embroidery. She wears a cotton and lace petticoat, britches, hand knit socks of New Zealand wool and hand made leather shoes. Rachael holds her hand-made soft toy. The small book she is meant to be reading to her little sisters has gone missing amongst all of their other books. Rachael is number 9 of a very limited edition, only 20 world-wide from 2003. Certificate of authenticity and original price tag for $2,600 included. Internationally renowned doll artist, Pauline Middleton, has won multiple awards for her dolls, which represent the beautiful diversity in children of different ethnicities, but specializing in Australian Aboriginal children. They truly are works of art! The doll is in great displayed condition, with scratches on the backs of her legs from shelf-wear (please see photo). Sold "as is".
