2003 CARTOONIST ARNOLD ROTH WRITTEN HUMOROUS NOTE+INK DRAWING~ON SIGNED ART CARD - $125 - (Northridge, CA)

This 5" by 7" note card, picturing the art of ARNOLD ROTH, American freelance cartoonist and illustrator for advertisements, album covers, books, magazines, and newspapers, has a humorous handwritten note and cartoon drawing by the artist on the inside. The front of the card pictures 'Seasoned Cook: New Orleans' @1985 by Arnold Roth, which originally appeared in Esquire November 1985. The note, dated January 15, 2003, was sent to friends to thank them for a previous donation to the University of the Arts. The note reads: " Hiya, Jules & Joan, Thank you for your generous contribution to the Arnold Roth Scholarship Fund at the University of the Arts. Practically all the students will become excellent artists and will enrich our lives, culture, society and themselves. The others will become cartoonists and will enrich distillers, brewers, and bookies. So, if you become a distiller, etc. think of your thoughtful gift as an investment in other's dissolution. Life IS a wheel. Thanks, again, you're very nice-Your pen pal, Arnie. Love & Kisses to all-Specially Mabel!" This vintage card, showing light wear from age and storage, will make a rare addition to any collection.
