Antique 3-Drawer Nautical Telescope JH.Steward 406 & 457 Strand London Brass - $149 - (Colebrook, NH)
Antique JH Steward 3-Pull Brass Ship's Telescope Offered is a British ship's collapsible (3-pull) leather and brass telescope by J.H. Steward, London. The first thing we look at when we come across antique telescopes is the optics. This one is clear and fairly sharp! The pull to open the scope to it's full 30" is smooth and tight. The collapsed size is about 10". The front lens is protected with a leather cap. The eyepiece has the common sliding brass plate for protection. The brass body is well stamped with the maker and address "406 & 457 Strand, London. This address dates the scope to between 1886 / 1928. The scopes were among the first items manufactured at this location, for the British Navy and other military branches. This same scope was also produced as the "Lord Bury" telescope. Nice antique telescope with great optics. Shipping is included in price. my#1809055016 Enjoy shopping with our 100% NO NONSENSE ebay backed guarantee!
