Japanese Furisode Kimono Vintage Silk Purple Embroidered Gold Tsuzumi Full Length Lined Beautiful purple kimono with gold embroidery, the embroidery has gold tsuzumi (Japanese Drums) as the design and red and silver matsu (pine trees)? fans of flowers? or fans? The color is a beautiful royal or eggplant purple color, inside lining is an off white/beige color. I had someone translate the tag (pic 10), they told me that the characters read he-i-a-n-ka-ku in hiragana. Heian Palace. It's post war due to the stitching. It was very likely used as a rental for the coming of age ceremonies in Japan. The kimono is not light, fairly heavy material that looks to be silk. The embroidery does have some pulls throughout the robe. This came out of an estate in Pennsylvania, I do not have any info of where it originally came from or when. The kimono needs restoration. It has water type spots and stains throughout the robe inside and out. It has some damage at the bottom hem of the robe, looks to be from wear and a hole at the bottom hem, please see picture 11. There is some damage at the top shoulders and a few more holes throughout the robe. There is also some damage along some of the edges. Length of kimono from top of shoulder to bottom hem is approx. 69", any other measurements you would like, please message me. I have more pictures that I can send, please let me know.
