DESCRIPTION: Gorgeous Ancient Han Dynasty Scabbard Chape Highly translucent with tremendous eye appeal. It is mostly a creamy champagne color with awesome auspicious highlights of rich maroon / red on the Chilong Dragon's body with more reddish veining. It also exhibits a fine old smooth polish over its entirety. Truly gorgeous. Classic trapezoidal shape with bowed convex sides making an elliptical cross-section. One sinuous Dragon shown in full relief rises over the surface of the body of the Chape. A similar example was found at the tomb of the King of the Nan Yue, Canton. Double drilled on the top for attachment. The underside is flat. Classic Han Dynasty scrolling carved motif silhouetted on the reverse. Han Dynasty (206 B.C - 220 A.D.) This is an exceptionally fine example for the serious collector. MATERIAL: Highly polished, highly translucent, light gray and cream Jade.
