Kiku ImportsItem:11K3 Antique Japanese Kaidan Tansu / step chest This is an antique 3 section Japanese stair chest called Kaidan or Kaidansu. It measures that 77.75 " tall, 69.5 " wide, 31.25 " deep. It was constructed out of Zelkova wood (Keyaki) and Cryptomeria (Suginoki). The original hand made iron handles are thick and substantial to match this beautiful chest.Every inch of this chest has storage room. This includes the bottom step which can be accessed when the bottom drawer (in the second step) is pulled out of its compartment. The incline is from the left to the right. It was professionally restored to provide beauty and function for many generation to come.
