HERE WE HAVE FOR SALE: exquisite and fine antique japanese satsuma pottery small footed teapot and lid, superb quality painted and gold decoration featuring vignettes of geisha and other imperial figures, borders of flowers and other motifs in remarkable detail. it has the original lid and woven wicker swing handle. signed on bottom in black and gold - i do not have the reference books to help identify the mark or artist. i would date to the circa 1880-1900 meiji period, and in terms of workmanship, it's one of the best examples i've seen in quite awhile. size: it measures about 4.25 inches diameter and 2 inches tall to lid (not including handle) Condition: As pictured. the pottery excellent, no damage or repairs observed. the woven swing handle shows expected age / use wear and may need one small securing band replaced but in overall good condition. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ We will ship most items within (3) business days after payment.
