Antique late 1800s or early 1900s cast iron floor train set Illinois Central Rail Road pull toy with its original paint in wonderful condition with no breaks, chips or cracks. According to the book Cast Iron Floor Trains by Rick Ralston the set was made by The HARRIS Toy Co. It was originally issued in 1895-1896. It was cataloged until 1903. It is an extremely rare find in this nice of condition. Beautiful smooth cast iron, tight seams and hand painted touches makes this a wonderful collectible item. Measures 32" long overall. The steam locomotive shows black paint with red and gold accents and measures 9.5"l. Passenger car and baggage car is painted a red orange color with remains of gold accent trim and black painted lettering and measure 8.5"l each. Coal tender car shows black paint with remains of gold accent trim and measures 4.5"l. The wheel axels 2 1/4" w. Please see pictures for complete condition.
