Carved wooden hobby/carousel rocking horse. Painted, signed and numbered by carousel artist Shirley T. Cornelius (#8601, see second photo). The detail, colors, and crackle effect (craquelure) in the finish are exquisite. We believe the carving was done by Mountain Wood Carvers of Missouri, but cannot guarantee this. A wonderful folk art decoration and collectible for circus/amusement park enthusiasts.
