Here's a pair of Marbrie Paperweights, one of which is a Gibson 1988 (embossed in the pontil) & the other American made?? This pair might be a nice Holiday gift for a new collector – or, for someone looking for two very unusual items. "Marbrie" describes an unusual paperweight design consisting of colored bands emanating from a central point at the top of the weight; and then running along the sides to the bottom. The decorative elements of a marbrie weight are layered on (or close to) the surface of the dome.Photo 2: Marbrie 3-color (burgundy, green, & white) opaque glass overlaid on a clear center dome, with a polished base. This is probably American-made.
