CHINESE EXPORT SILVER EGG CRUET SET MAKER "P" 31 OUNCES We are pleased to offer this c1830 Chinese export silver egg cruet set. Selling 40 year collection of Chinese export silver..................................... A smaller Cutshing cruet set illustrated in Forbes Fig. 168 page 221. This set from one of the most rarely seen Canton makers "P". Working in the 2nd quarter 19th century. Shaped circular design. George III inspired raised floral supports. Slots for the fiddle, thread and shell egg spoons. He worked in Canton at the same time as "P". Master "P" had spoons made by Cutshing for this client. Forbes illustrates identical spoon page 165. Hour glass handle. Handsome leaf framed twin shell & diamond above. The stand supported beautifully upon most unique inset shell ball feet. Stand 8 and cups 2 5/8 inches, spoons 4 inches. Set 31 1/2 (standard) ounces. Hallmarked as shown. The marks extremely clear and well struck. In excellent condition. Appears little used. Rich, lustreous silver patina throughout. Retains original crisp, vibrant detail. One cup a well matched silver plate replacement. Massachusetts residents are subject to sales tax.
