FIFTY STATES BIRDS AND FLOWERS - This quilt is comprised of fifty squares - one for each state. Our expert embroiderer, created this quilt so that each square contains the bird and flower of the designated state. This quilt definitely features the embroidery skills of its maker. Approximate dimensions: 100" X 112" Amish Spirit quilts are hand made, start to finish. Every Amish Spirit quilt is hand quilted by ONE artist. Amish Spirit does not sell "bee" style quilts. Amish Spirit does not sell machine quilted quilts. All fabrics are dye fast quilt grade cotton (no dress fabrics!). Quilt bats are high density, very light and will keep you warm. Amish Spirit is passionate about quilts. We grew up very near this tiny community of 40 families and there is a longstanding relationship between our family and the women of this community. This old order Amish group does not have running water or electricity. Widow heads-of-households typically do not work outside the home so proceeds at the time of our purchase go to these women to give them a bit of independence and extra income.
