Pair of Antique 19th c Rosewood Anglo-Indian Plantation Lounge Chairs w/Inlay - $5,800 - (Santa Fe, NM)

A rare pair of antique rosewood Palace Anglo-Indian Plantation lounge chairs with an elaborate allover bone and ebony inlay design, a frame banded with ebony and bone, and woven cane seating . These were originally fabricated for aristocratic Indians and English Colonials during the 19th century in India. These chairs are from Mussorrie, Northern India. These chairs feature graceful curvilinear arms and the woven cane is original. The chairs are in wonderful condition with minor wear. The wear is consistent with age and use. There is a small in one of the cane seats (close up photos provided). The cane on the exterior side of one the the chairs has come away from the lacing for 13 1/2”. The cane is still stiff and intact and this does not seem to affect the functionality of the chair at this point. A bottom rail on each of the chairs (each chair has a front and back rail), appears top have been replaced at a later time. Dimensions: 24.250"W × 39.50"D × 36.25"H The top of the seat is 13” from the floor in the front and 9.50” off the floor at the lowest point. This listing is for both chairs.
