Vintage Hand Puppet Bil Bill Baird Ideal Toys Rubber Head Fabric Glove RARE! - $20 - (Grovetown, GA)

This Vintage, red bird hand puppet was created in the 1950’s by the legendary puppeteer Bil Baird (now most known for marionette puppet show scene in the movie The Sound of Music) and manufactured by the Ideal Toy company, and it is stamped as such as in photo. As was characteristic of Baird’s Hand, or “Glove Puppets” from this time period, this brightly colored bird has a rubber head attached to a knit fabric sleeve. This adorable puppet is a rare find, however it does show wear and have some damage. There are places where the paint has faded or worn off, the tip of the beak is missing a small chunk, and the fabric has some spots and a tiny hole.
