Rare 1880's Providence Furniture Company Black Americana Trade Card Rhode Island - $5 - (Pine Bluffs, WY)
Available is a rare Victorian Era Black Americana advertising trade card for the Providence Furniture Company of Providence, Rhode Island. The card measures approximately 4 1/2 inches tall by 2 5/8 inches wide. The image features an African-American boy or man with his head poking through the sign advertising the company. The stamped on text reads, "VISIT THE/PROVIDENCE/FURNITURE CO.,/BROAD STREET,/BROAD STREET,/NEAR MATHEWSON/(OVER)". The card was made by "BUFFORD" of "BOSTON". The reverse of the card has a great deal of information about the company and what it sells. The card is in very good condition and is free of any rips, tears, or creases. The reverse shows some toning and a small amount of paper loss from once being displayed in a scrapbook. Please be sure to check out the large scans I have posted and judge condition for yourself. Buyer agrees to pay $3.00 USPS First Class shipping with delivery confirmation and to pay within three days of auction close.
