Vintage Sherwood Bros. Pottery Stoneware 4 or 5 Gallon Brown And Tan Jug - $95 - (Ohio City, OH)
Item 5366. Vintage Sherwood Bros. Pottery Stoneware 4 or 5 Gallon Brown And Tan Bee Hive Type jug. The jug is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. It does have some slight crazing of the glaze. There is one small glaze void and it can be seen in the attached photos. It stands 17 1/2" tall and measures 10 1/2" diameter at the bottom rim. In the picture showing the bottom, there appears to be a large crack. It is not, it is actually a ridge in the stoneware itself. There are no makers mark but my research has led me to believe it was probably produced by the Sherwood Bros. in the very early 1900's. The jug is being listed as "pick up only" because of the size and weight. If you have any further questions, please contact me. Good luck and thanks for looking.
