Audio Matching Transformer This is a multi-tap transformer to match high impedances to low impedances. It is very useful for advanced crystal radios designs, to match the impedance of your diode or galena detector of your crystal radio to whatever headphones or earphones you may have. Plenty of research and ideas are available online. Autotransformer design, primary and secondary share a common connection, see schematic above. For low voltage, low signal applications only. One side of transformer is low impedances with values of 8, 16, 32, 64, and 300 ohm. The other side is high impedance with values of 10K, 20K, 40K, 60K, 80K and 100K.
